Materials that match our values

At Aurelyon, beauty and responsibility go hand in hand. Every piece begins with recycled stainless steel—a hypo-allergenic, tarnish-resistant base metal that’s kind to skin and planet alike. More than 80% of all stainless steel is reclaimed at the end of its life, making it one of the world’s most sustainable alloys.

We also use natural freshwater pearls—never synthetic or glass. Each pearl is organically shaped and uniquely luminous, selected for its quiet elegance and timeless individuality.

The gold you see—and why it lasts

When it comes to gold, karats matter. Pure gold (24 K) is naturally soft, so lower-karat alloys such as 14 K (58.3% pure) contain more copper, silver, zinc, or nickel to harden the metal; the trade-off is a paler colour. 18 K gold (75% pure) retains the deep, honeyed tone people associate with heirlooms.

To preserve that richness on the surface, each Aurelyon piece is coated with an efficient, modern technique called Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD). Inside a vacuum chamber, vaporised 18 K gold particles fuse permanently to the recycled-steel core, forming a dense, water-resistant layer.

This method is worlds apart from traditional electroplating, which relies on a liquid bath and a thin electrochemical deposit that can flake or fade within months. PVD forms a locked layer that is no softer or more scratch-prone than lower-karat plating, and it retains its glow with minimal care.

Sustainability built in

A finish that lasts longer means fewer replacements, less waste, and a lighter environmental footprint. By combining recycled stainless steel, responsibly sourced freshwater pearls, and an efficient coating technique, Aurelyon jewellery isn’t just more distinctive—it’s the more sustainable choice for every day and years to come.
